San Nicolás is a very active city of renown, surrounded by natural beauty. It is located in the north of the Buenos Aires province, very close to the limit with the Santa Fe province, on the Paraná River, in front of the beautiful Lechiguanas Islands of the river delta. Tourist attractions include religious, cultural, historical and recreational points of interest. The city's industrial and economic activity is gaining importance and makes the city stand out in the region. San Nicolás was founded on April 14th, 1748 by Rafael de Aguiar, who decided to name the city after the saint he was devoted to, San Nicolás de Bari. Since then, the city slowly became a main connection between Buenos Aires and the rest of the country, a fact that transformed it in a location where important historical events took place. Despite the passing of the years, San Nicolás still keeps its antique monuments, streets and classical buildings, alongside new industries and buildings.

San Nicolás de los Arroyos, birthplace of the House of the Agreement (Casa del Acuerdo).
